Usain Bolt To Break World 200m Record in 19 Seconds!
Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt is back to competitive action after being out with a foot injury sustained in late 2014. The sprinter will compete in the 200 meters event at the Athletissima Diamond League Meeting on July 9.
The 29 year old is a six-time Olympic Gold Champion and the reigning World record holder at 100 & 200 meters missed much of last season due to what he termed as “nagging “ foot injury.
Bolt committed to running a meet in Lausanne, Switzerland. This will be a week later, after his eagerly awaited 100 meter run in Paris on July 4, 2015.
The sprinter holds the 200 meter record at 19.19 seconds and has his eyes trained to be the first man to break the 19 seconds at that distance.
He said he chose to run at the Pontase Olympic Stadium “because it has one of the best curves in the world.”
For the short term, he is setting his eyes on the World Championship event which will be held in Beijing, China in early August.
Presently, his attempt to capture a consecutive clean sweep in the 100m, 200m and the 4x100 relay is his ultimate wish, especially clinching the 100m dash which will have his name immortalized in history books.
Despite the widespread rumors that he's bound to retire from competitive athletics in 2017, 2015 will be a crucial year for Bolt who is in top form and burning with desire to break records.
